🧾 Answer First | Core Conclusion

"I have bowel movements every day, but it always feels like not enough is coming out.
My lower abdomen feels heavy, my skin looks dull, and I don't feel refreshed even after waking up in the morning."

I am Dr. Choi Jang-hyuk, director of Dongjejdang Korean Medicine Clinic.

At our clinic, we use three pillars when providing detoxification treatment.
Constitutional herbal medicine establishes the body's overall framework,
Gamro Water allows the digestive organs to rest while accelerating toxin elimination,
and Detox Pill pushes out waste through bowel movements.

Today, I will discuss the third of these three pillars, the 'Detox Pill.'
The Detox Pill is based on the blood stasis removal principle of the classical prescription Tao Ren Cheng Qi Tang (桃仁承氣湯),
and is a proprietary pill formulation developed by Dongjejdang Korean Medicine Clinic through clinical experience.

✅ Action | Immediate Implementation

Remember these 3 things when taking the Detox Pill.

1️⃣ Take it only when bowel movements are not smooth

The Detox Pill is not a daily medication.
Take it during a constitutional detoxification program or Gamro Water fasting when bowel movements are not smooth.
If your bowels are moving well, there's no need to push them out.
It means your body is emptying itself naturally.

2️⃣ Observe changes in your bowel movements — Don't be alarmed

After taking the Detox Pill, your stool may become loose, or you may pass stool completely different from normal.
You may pass mucus-like stool similar to nose mucus, sticky stool like phlegm, or dark reddish stool.
This is the process of old waste that has stuck to the intestinal walls being expelled.
The worse your intestinal condition, the longer this reaction persists.
While this may be alarming, it is a positive sign that detoxification is working well.

3️⃣ Effects are multiplied when used together with constitutional herbal medicine and Gamro Water

The Detox Pill can be used alone, but at our clinic, we use all three together.

Constitutional herbal medicine eliminates excess body fluids through urine and sweat,
Gamro Water allows the digestive organs to rest while accelerating toxin elimination,
and Detox Pill pushes out waste through bowel movements.

These three must work together to complete three-dimensional detoxification through urine, sweat, and bowel movements. If you're unsure which combination is right for you, the fastest approach is to start with a constitutional diagnosis.

🚨 Warning | Critical Warning Signs to Check

✔ When diarrhea occurs more than 5 times a day for more than 2 days
It is normal for stool to become loose after taking the Detox Pill.
However, if watery diarrhea occurs more than 5 times a day and persists for more than 2 days,
stop taking it and contact the clinic.
There is a risk of dehydration.

✔ When severe abdominal pain or cramping occurs
Mild abdominal discomfort is a reaction from the intestines moving.
However, if you experience cramping pain, stop taking it immediately.

✔ Pregnant women or those with excessive menstrual bleeding
The Detox Pill contains herbal ingredients that relieve blood stasis.
Pregnant women or those with excessive menstrual bleeding must consult with a Korean medicine doctor before deciding whether to take it.

✔ Those with low body weight, anemia, or low blood pressure
Detoxification treatment itself is an approach suited to overeating and toxin accumulation states.
It is not suitable for those who are underweight or have severe anemia.

🧠 The Why | Root Cause Analysis

There are three main pathways for toxins to leave our body:
urine, sweat, and bowel movements.

However, most diet and detox methods focus only on urine and sweat.
People drink a lot of water, promote sweating, and consume beverages with diuretic effects.
Often, the intestines, where most waste accumulates, are neglected.

In Korean medicine, what accumulates in the intestines is called 'food stagnation (食積)' and 'blood stasis (瘀血).'
Undigested food becomes toxins, and blocked blood circulation stagnates and hardens.
When this accumulates, symptoms such as chronic fatigue, indigestion, skin troubles, and abdominal bloating appear.

The Detox Pill handles this 'bowel movement pathway.'
In the classical prescription Tao Ren Cheng Qi Tang, peach kernel (桃仁) enters the liver to dissolve old blood stasis,
and rhubarb moves the intestines to push waste downward—this is the key principle[1].
Dongjejdang's Detox Pill is a formulation based on this principle, enhanced with clinical experience.

This is also why Dongjejdang uses constitutional herbal medicine, Gamro Water, and Detox Pill together.

Constitutional herbal medicine → Elimination of excess body fluids through urine and sweat
Gamro Water → Acceleration of toxin elimination while allowing digestive organs to rest
Detox Pill → Elimination of intestinal waste and blood stasis through bowel movements

Only when all three pathways are open simultaneously does the body truly feel lighter.

📊 Proof | Cases and Evidence

The most common thing I hear in my clinic while conducting the detoxification program is "I passed this."

Most patients experience changes in their bowel movements starting from day 2-3 of taking the Detox Pill.
Dark reddish stool, stool mixed with mucus, and stool with a completely different smell from normal appear.
This is the process of old waste stuck to the intestinal walls being expelled.

Some patients experience significantly increased urine output or increased sweating.
This is the process of constitutional herbal medicine and detox essence eliminating excess body fluids, and is also a positive response.

Among those who complete the 12-week constitutional detoxification program, many experience
weight loss along with improved skin tone, recovered digestive function, and improved sleep quality.
Above all, they most commonly say "my body feels lighter."

Changes come faster when Gamro Water fasting and Detox Pill are used together.
This is because while Gamro Water completely rests the digestive organs, the Detox Pill concentratedly pushes out what has accumulated in the intestines.

The blood stasis removal effects of Tao Ren Cheng Qi Tang-based formulations have been confirmed in Korean medicine research[2].
Dongjejdang's Detox Pill adds a constitutional detoxification perspective to this,
aiming not simply to treat constipation but to fundamentally eliminate blood stasis and old waste.

🔚 Closing | Summary and Encouragement

Detoxification pills are the third pillar of Dongjjedang Korean Medicine Clinic's detoxification system.
Constitutional herbal medicine removes body fluids through urine and sweat,
Amrita water allows the digestive system to rest,
and detoxification pills push out waste through bowel movements.
When these three work together, you will experience changes such as weight loss and a lighter body.

If your body feels heavy lately, your stomach feels bloated, and your skin looks dull — why not try emptying your intestines first.

❓ FAQ

Q. Are detoxification pills a constipation medication?
They are not simply a constipation medication.
While general constipation medications only promote intestinal movement, detoxification pills are a prescription based on the principles of Doin Seunggi-tang, focusing on eliminating both blood stasis and accumulated stool. Relieving constipation is just one of several roles that detoxification pills play.

Q. Do you take detoxification pills together during the Amrita water fasting program?
Yes, detoxification pills are used together in the Amrita water fasting program.
While Amrita water allows the digestive system to rest, detoxification pills work to push out waste remaining in the intestines.
However, if bowel movements are already regular, Amrita water alone may be sufficient without detoxification pills.

Q. Can detoxification pills be prescribed separately?
Patients who have previously received treatment at our clinic can receive detoxification pills alone through non-face-to-face consultation.
For first-time patients, in-person consultation is required by medical law, so you must visit our clinic and receive a diagnosis first.
It is safer and more effective to proceed with a program tailored to your constitution rather than taking detoxification pills alone.

Q. What reactions occur when taking detoxification pills?
Bowel movements may become loose, or mucous and dark reddish stools may appear.
Urine output may increase or sweating may become more profuse.
This is the process of waste and excess body fluids accumulated in the intestines and body being expelled.
The worse the intestinal condition, the longer the reaction persists, which is a good sign that detoxification is working well.
