#Treatment Stages

Q When I first get prescribed Haedokhwan, in what order does the program proceed?

A Step 1: After a constitutional diagnosis, constitutional herbal medicine, Gamnosu, and Haedokhwan are prescribed → Step 2: 2-3 weeks of initial detox (eliminating intestinal waste, forming a bowel rhythm) → Step 3: Weight and body composition are remeasured and prescriptions adjusted → Step 4: Transition to a maintenance stage.

Detailed Answer

At your first visit, we identify your constitutional type and detox goals, then start all three prescriptions simultaneously. Bowel response may be strong during the initial 2-3 weeks, as this is when intestinal stagnation is resolved. After that, we track changes in body composition and adjust the intensity and ratio of the prescriptions.

Our Korean Medicine Clinic's Perspective

It is a normal flow for the proportion of Haedokhwan to be high early on and decrease over time. The mid-to-late phase, when the proportion of constitutional herbal medicine increases, is the key period when actual constitutional improvement occurs.
