Q I take acid-suppressing medication and a sedative. Can I take herbal medicine alongside them?
A In most cases yes, but you must tell us everything you are taking. Depending on the type, we advise spacing doses one to two hours apart. Do not stop existing medication on your own — we decide together when to reduce it.
Detailed Answer
We are especially careful with medication taken for anxiety or sleep, because stopping it suddenly can destabilise symptoms considerably. Medication you take continuously is kept as it is when we begin. Please tell us whenever it changes or something is added.
Korean Medicine Clinic Perspective
Bringing the exact names and dosing times to your visit is the most accurate approach. Once symptoms settle, we summarise the picture so you can discuss reducing them with the prescriber.
