Q My mouth and nose have gotten dry while dieting. How much water should I drink?
A We recommend drinking at least 2 liters of water a day. Since gamnosu (diuretic) eliminates body water, sufficient water replenishment is essential to prevent dry mucous membranes.
Detailed Answer
Gamnosu eliminates excess body water, but at least 2 liters of water intake a day should be combined so it doesn't also affect the water your cells need. Dry lips or nasal membranes are a sign of insufficient water. Drink water divided before and after meals and after exercise, and it's best not to count caffeinated drinks as water since they have a diuretic effect too.
Our Korean Medicine Clinic's Perspective
Since water metabolism capacity differs by constitution, if mucous membrane dryness is severe, we adjust the gamnosu dosage or herbal formula during your visit. Drinking enough water alone improves overall metabolism and skin condition.
